Send a letter of objection to Daventry District Council
Sending A Letter Of Objection: What to write and Where to Email, Fax or Post.
REMEMBER WE NEED AS MANY LETTERS OF OBJECTION AS POSSIBLE. BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE CAN OBJECT SEPARATELY.
At this stage the planning application is for a meteorological mast to collect data for up to 36 months prior to a wind farm application. Thus all objections have to be carefully worded as they are not against the wind farm itself. It is extremely important to remember that you are only objecting to the mast at this stage NOT the wind farm - all other objections are said not to be relevant and will not be considered.
If you think it would be bizarre for the council to give permission for a 60m wind mast
without having considered whether there is a reasonable chance of a subsequent wind farm application being successful - you would not be the only one !
The most effective type of objection is an individually written letter, email or fax(both husband and wife should write separate letters or emails) addressed to the Planning Department (see details below), which outlines the reasons why you are opposed to the proposals.
WHAT TO WRITE
Possible guidelines for objection against DA /2007 1007 are listed below.
Objections need to stress why you feel the proposed development is wrong in planning terms.
**** YOU CAN CUT & PASTE BUT YOU MUST MAKE IT YOUR OWN LETTER BY CHANGING THE WORDS TO SUIT YOUR PURPOSE. ****
Dear Sir
I would like to object to DA /2007 1007 because . . . .
- DDC has frequently refused planning applications for development in open countryside on the basis of them being in the Daventry Special Landscape Area. Development of a meteorological mast in the same area would be inconsistent.
- The application contravenes policies within the Saving Direction of the DDC Local plan & Northamptonshire County Structure Plan.
- Risk to residents from aircraft accident arising from low flying military aircraft commonly in the area.
- Particular risk due to presence of light aeroplane runway close by.
- Meteorological Mast is a permanent structure 60m (197ft) high with multiple guy ropes stretching 30m (98ft) either side to fixed anchors with an overall footprint in the area of 2,500 sq m (30,000sq ft). Such a structural development has a footprint considerably larger than the average house and is a change of use from Agricultural Land to Industrial Development within open countryside.
- The site is in a totally inappropriate location for this forerunner to a wind farm that is within 1 km of homes and would dominate the area’s character and appearance to an extent that it outweighs any possible benefit or contribution to regional renewable energy targets.
Yours Faithfully
xxxxxxx
We are continuing to consult on additional legitimate objections that can be made to the meteorological mast. Please bear with us. If we have your email address. (see Contacts) we will email you as we receive more advice in this area.
